'YOKED'

This sermon focuses on Matthew 11:29–30, where Jesus invites believers to take His yoke upon themselves and find rest for their souls. A yoke is a wooden bar joining two animals, often representing burdens, bondage and partnership. The message emphasizes that the Lord’s yoke is not a yoke of burden, but of FREEDOM and PEACE! When we submit to Christ’s yoke, we are freed from the heavy expectations and pressures that people or the world place on us. Jesus, who took on the yoke of human flesh, understands our struggles and weaknesses. By following Him, we find true spiritual rest and freedom from the weight of sin, worry, and self-reliance.

The sermon also draws on the image of two animals yoked together, walking step by step together and sharing the load. This illustrates the closeness Christ desires with His followers, a partnership where He carries the greater weight and guides our path. To be “yoked with Christ” means to surrender fully to His will, allowing Him to direct our path and strengthen us. In this divine union, believers are not enslaved but set free to live in the Spirit, walking alongside Jesus in harmony, obedience, and peace.

Worship Song of the week

'LET THE ALABASTER BREAK'

“Let the Alabaster Break” by Lizzie Morgan is a song that beautifully captures the heart of surrender and outgoing worship. It reflects the biblical story in Luke 7:36-50. A story of the woman who broke her alabaster jar to pour her expensive perfume on Jesus, symbolizing a total offering of love and devotion. The song invites listeners to come before God with the same vulnerability, holding nothing back and allowing their worship to be a fragrant offering to Him.

As we sing, we’re reminded that true worship isn’t about preserving what’s precious to us, but about sacrificing everything before the Lord and giving Him our all, even if it costs us. The song creates a intimate atmosphere of humility, where our hearts can pour out freely before God. “Let the Alabaster Break” calls us to let go of pride, fear, or restraint and to give God our deepest affection, not for what He can give us, but simply because He is worthy of all our praise.
